Taiwanishのプロフィール
A name inspired by the destiny of where life’s journey takes us. With a rural English background, a rustic aesthetic developed, moreover, after many years spent living in Taiwan, a learned appreciation of Taiwan’s history and culture, shape, colour and texture, have become the prominent features of Taiwanish designs.
Objects, such as ox-cart wheels, railway nails, gear cogs, rusted steel and iron hardware, distressed wood and shipwreck debris, unloved by most, are sought out by Taiwanish for upcycling.
Tired of living in a disposable society, and with a loathing of the IKEA-type, short lifespan philosophy in home furnishings, in 2016 Taiwanish was born to bring the longevity of rustic character and charm to any household or business.
My desire to resurrect the beauty in something aged by the elements of nature inspired me to launch Taiwanish.
Each piece is guaranteed one-of-a-kind, while the design may be replicated, the beauty of a piece of wood or iron that has lain exposed to the elements for perhaps a half century, cannot.
My designs are not Taiwanese, they are not English, they are simply Taiwanish.
來自英國與台灣的相遇,愛山、愛海、愛蛇、愛冒險、愛吵死人的重金屬,用各式態度與生活遭遇,用手作木工熨整出對這世界現世生活的回應。—-Taiwanish
